ER is a great shout. I need to go back to that. Lost is another one that passed me by but has stayed with audiences decades later.
Peep Show endlessly quotable comedy genius. There were better ones than this, of course, but I latched on to the following from Super Hans very early: “Tell you what, that crack is really moreish.” 🤣
Oh , and this audience insight from Jez: “Crunchy Nut Cornflakes are just Frosties for w*nkers.”
To which Mark replies, "Yeah, well, Frosties are just Cornflakes for people who can’t face reality."
Dobby (not in the cellar), the bit about Maltesers … it's all coming back to me now.
This was awesome (and not because I was mentioned) I’m always looking for new stuff to watch so perhaps I’ll try one of these. I’m currently watching Smallville for the first time and I’m not super impressed. Also Industry on HBO. Thanks for this write up and looking forward to what other suggestions you have
A great list of recommendations. I re-watch bits and pieces of Peep Show all the time. It's my real comfort watch.
And yes, I caught lots of ER as a teen and loved the melodrama of it all and also the hot multi-ethnic cast (I love Grey's Anatomy for the same reasons).
Utopia was such a unique show. The over-saurated colour gradi ngmade it a really interesting watch.
Yes! ER walked so Grey's could run! The US just does representation better, period. Over in the UK it still feels like we're still not where US TV was when ER was first on in the 90s. It's mad.
Interesting question! It's actually my main focus in life. I trained as an actor, I'm agented, I've played some amazing roles in the past & created a lot of my own work too. Writing is just what I do while I'm waiting for the next acting job really. It's something I talk about at the beginning of this piece & in a few of my other posts too. x
and that’s such a great way to buy time. You’ve gained lots of reps by writing all these while. it’ll defo make you even better when the opportunity to play out roles come.
Ah the usual question that actors get asked! 😂 Hard for you to catch any of my theatre work from where you are. I'm in season 2 of Hulu's NO MAN'S LAND but, until that drops, there's a couple of short films on my website.

That Super Hans quote is my favourite PEEP SHOW quote too!! 😂

Love INDUSTRY! & Yes, I think I'll likely do another list like this soon. x
thought snallville ended prematurely. Only to see it actually had like 10 seasons.
Missing so many seasons is actually funny
💀💀

Left Overs sounds good. I generally stay away from dramas because I don’t need help being go sad, but this premise is really interesting!
It’s amazing. But if you don’t want to be sad this may not be the show for you!
do you ever see yourself acting?
